Have you ever dreamt about having superpowers? Being able to fly, lift impossibly heavy objects, tele-port, or heal yourself would make life more interesting. Yet, these are powers that exist only in our imaginations, and the characters who possess these gifts are the epitome of fiction.

Yes, superheroes, and the comics in which they appear are fantasy stories, but that does not mean they have no connection to reality. In fact, superhero tales are replete with situations that make even the most recognizable hero subject to perhaps the greatest power of them all … economics!

Comic-nomics provides links to videos and comic book panels, as well as activities to help students, economic educators, and the self-interested see the connection between economics and superhero stories. By presenting economics in the context of the familiar world of comic book heroes, we hope that students will find economics (and comics) more interesting.
