In this promo for the Netflix show Luke Cage, Luke (aka Power Man) is trying out for the New York Jets.  His incredible strength enables him to make a mockery of the broad jump, tractor tire flip, and 40-yard dash.  If superheroes used their abilities to make money, they could be very rich indeed, but something keeps them from doing this.

In any other walk of life, people can use their human capital to improve themselves.  The hero code implicitly forbids accepting money for doing good deeds.  Should heroes be allowed to make money from their hero work?  Why shouldn’t they be allowed to use their resources like anyone else in a system of free enterprise?
