Thanos may be the “Mad Titan”, but there is a method to his madness. Thanos, is trying to solve economic’s age old problem: how to handle limited resources in a universe with unlimited wants. Most economists would begin sorting out this problem by attempting to more efficiently satisfy the wants of the people. Thanos takes a much more extreme route. In the name of fixing the problem of scarcity, he eliminates half of Gamora’s planet’s population. This effectively cuts the demand for all things in half, but at what cost?
